 ng\n Morocco\, host country of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group
  and the International Monetary Fund\n   The Annual Meetings of the World 
 Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) constitute the 
 major annual meeting of international finance\, bringing together the majo
 r figures\, the Ministers of Finance and the Governors of the central bank
 s of 189 member countries of these institutions as well as representatives
  of the private sector\, NGOs\, and academia.\n The designation of Morocco
  reinforces the reputation of the Kingdom as a privileged destination for 
 the organization of major international conferences and the choice of Marr
 akech confirms its reputation as an international city open to the world. 
   The Assemblies will be held at Bab Ighli\, formerly the main gateway to 
 the medina which takes its name from the guards in charge of protecting ac
 cess. Huge expanse of more than 300 hectares located at the exit of the ci
 ty in the direction of Ourika\, Bab Ighli\, hosted in November 2016 the CO
 P22 for the climate and its 30\,000 participants as well as the First Afri
 can Summit of action for the climate.   In 2014\, at the same place\, the 
 5th Global Entrepreneurship Summit was held\, which brought together Heads
  of State\, high-level government representatives and more than 3\,000 ent
 repreneurs.\n Given the quality of the participants\, the 2023 Annual Meet
 ings offer the Kingdom the opportunity to strengthen its attractiveness an
 d promote its image: a stable and tolerant country\, open and dynamic\, ri
 ch in its intangible heritage\, its secular history\, its culture \, its g
 astronomy.and marked by the advances made over the last 20 years on the de
