The Arab Federation of Capital Markets (AFCM) in collaboration with the International Capital Market Association ICMA were pleased to hold a virtual seminar discussing sustainable bonds in the emerging markets.
Speakers discussed the standards/principles on sustainable financial instruments available to use in the market (including the latest development of ESG instruments); the main challenges to adopting and implementing ESG standards/guidelines in emerging markets and shared ideas/recommendations to accelerate the process; and the ICMA perspective on what kind of ESG instruments and related standards/principles are more suitable for emerging markets.
