The international capital markets met under one roof at the 55th ICMA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference which attracted 1,200 senior capital market representatives and industry leaders from ICMA’s global membership alongside public sector officials, regulators, academics and the press.

The programme featured high-level, influential speakers and delegates, who provided insights on the current state and prospects for capital markets, with a special focus on financial stability, sustainability, regulatory change and FinTech developments.

The pace of market and geo-political events shows few signs of slowing as we head into 2023, so our conference agenda equipped delegates with plenty of opportunities to fully grasp the factors affecting the international capital market and help them identify opportunities for growth. With a strong roster of high-level speakers, we covered topics including:

  • Industry leader debate – The geopolitical landscape and the its impact upon the wider capital market
  • The evolving role of asset management in times of change
  • How do we make bond markets liquid again?
  • Digital Transformation of Capital Markets – Automation, DLT, Digital Assets and Regulation

In addition, evening receptions at the Palais Brongniart (the historic open-outcry exchange situated in central Paris) and the Musée du Quai Branly provided the perfect backdrop for delegates to reconnect with peers and make valuable new industry contacts. ICMA’s event drew together market participants from 44 countries across the globe, making the opportunities for networking more impactful.
