The introduction of the European Union Regulation on European Green Bonds will enable EU and non-EU issuers to use the label of 'European Green Bond', designating it high-quality. The regulation aims to introduce a consistent set of rules to decrease fragmentation and uncertainty caused by diverging definitions of an environmentally sustainable bond within the EU. This will also make the comparison of environmentally sustainable bond investments easier for investors, facilitating an informed investment decision.
