BEYOND THE PANDEMIC: THE FUTURE OF MONETARY POLICY

@ Frankfurt, Germany

Join the annual ECB Forum on Central Banking, which will take place on 28 and 29 September 2021.

The Forum brings together central bank governors, academics, financial market representatives, journalists and others to exchange views on current policy issues and discuss the Forum’s key topic from a longer-term perspective.

This year’s edition will be moderated by Claire Jones of the Financial Times, and will consider the broader economic implications of the coronavirus pandemic and discuss future challenges for monetary policy.

We will be discussing topics such as the future of inflation, employment and the distributional effects of monetary policy, and will examine the link between monetary policy and climate change in Europe.

We will also consider the role of corporate indebtedness in a post-pandemic world and reflect on the potentially lasting structural changes brought about by the pandemic across business sectors.

The closing panel will be moderated by Alessandra Galloni, and will feature
• Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England
• Haruhiko Kuroda, Governor of the Bank of Japan
• Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank
• Jerome H. Powell, Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
